11 Springfield-area companies make Inc. 5000 list for fast growth- Congrats GGOB

Eleven companies in the Springfield metropolitan area made Inc. magazine’s 2016 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

Missouri Sun Solar, which recently moved its headquarters from Houston, Missouri, to Springfield. was the highest ranking company locally; ranking is determined by percent revenue growth over three years, ending in 2015. The solar panel installer came in at No. 156 out of 5,000, with 2,327 percent revenue growth between 2013 and 2015, according to Inc. Revenue in 2015 was $9.8 million.

The other area companies on the list, which is produced annually, were:

• No. 690: Springfield-based GigSalad, with 570 percent revenue growth over three years. Revenue in 2015 was $4.2 million. GigSalad is an online marketplace for booking bands, speakers and other services for events.

• No. 1611: Springfield-based Paragon Architecture, with 233 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which had revenue of $2.5 million in 2015, provides architectural design and planning services for schools, office buildings, training centers and FEMA safe rooms.

• No. 2287: Battlefield-based Russell Cellular, with 159 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which had revenue of $225 million in 2015, operates Verizon retail stores in more than 25 states.

• No. 2347: Springfield-based Little Sunshine's Playhouse and Preschool, with 155 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which had revenue of $12.6 million in 2015, operates more than a dozen early childhood education centers around the country, according to its website.

• No. 2393: Springfield-based Group Benefit Services, with 151 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which had revenue of $2 million in 2015, develops and administers employee benefit programs.

• No. 2724: Springfield-based The Great Game of Business, with 129 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which had revenue of $2.8 million in 2015, helps other firms implement the open-book management practices outlined in the book by the same name written by Springfield businessman Jack Stack.

• No. 2863: Springfield-based Classy Llama, with 121 percent revenue growth over three years. The company — which provides online merchants with marketing, strategy, creative and e-commerce platform services — had revenue of $5 million in 2015.

• No. 3680: Springfield-based The Payroll Company, with 84 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which had revenue of $3.5 million in 2015, provides outsourced payroll, tax services, employee benefits administration and HR services.

• No. 4078: Springfield-based JMARK Business Solutions, with 70 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which provides managed IT services and products to businesses, had revenue of $14.6 million in 2015.

• No. 4498: Springfield-based Everything Kitchens, with 56 percent revenue growth over three years. The company, which sells kitchenware and appliances both in retail stores and online, had revenue of $21.5 million in 2015.

Six companies in the Springfield metropolitan area made the 2015 version of the list.
