SRC Companies and organization structure

SRC Holdings is the holding company for the SRC organization and provides investment, legal, strategy, communication, benefits administration and other services to support the success of our companies and associates. SRC and its subsidiaries have spent 37 years helping OEMs sell parts and whole goods through custom remanufacturing programs for the agricultural, industrial, construction, truck, marine and automotive markets. Its expertise has grown far beyond remanufacturing to include warehousing, logistics, core management, kitting, packaging and material salvaging. Each SRC company is a leader in its industry and is rooted in open-book culture and employee ownership. A majority of our companies are housed in the Springfield, MO, area with a few located in Illinois and Kentucky.

our history

In 1983, Jack Stack (founder of SRC Holdings) and his 12 business partners scraped together $100,000 and borrowed another $9 million to buy a failing division of International Harvester in Springfield, Missouri. With the country in the midst of a recession, the future looked bleak for the engine-rebuilding plant they called SRC (Springfield Remanufacturing Corporation). they faced a new challenge: an 89:1 debt-to-equity ratio with an 18% interest rate. Jack knew they would need every single employee to understand that meeting their loan payments was critical to their success, how to reach that goal and that their jobs were at stake if they didn’t. The key was open-book management with the idea that if everyone was working to build a great company, they would be unstoppable.
